Here is a funny moment from the road in Houston TX with one of our new producers, Gary Sapone, who freestyles a mouthful.
This is pretty awesome, one of our producers (Barry Watson from South Carolina) went around Charleston with a video camera and asked people to share a perfect moment to make into a one second film.
I think they are all really cool, but my absolute favorite moment is the begining of video number 3.
Moment 1 of 7:
These are the videos from the Charleston Drive.
Moment 1/7.
Moment 2/7.
Moment 3/7.
Moment 4/7.
Moment 5/7. (My personal favorite)
Moment 6/7.
Moment 7/7.
I made the above using Ulead VideoStudio 11Plus which I had purchased just yesterday (May 31, 2008).
After my buddy and I created copies of the "1 Second Film" poster and made copies of the release form (We figured we should be on the safe side), we went to downtown Charleston during a Spoleto festival in hazy weather. We weren't sure if it would rain or not.
Anyway, it was our first filming project of any kind. Out of several requests, we recorded seven perfect moments. It would have been eight, however, the significant other expressed concern considering our complete lack of experience and suspected we were up to something, therefore the release form was ripped and the perfect moment was recorded over. In situations like that, we have no choice: We live with what we have and move on.
A friend of mine and myself will go around Charleston on the weekend of May 24th to help promote the "1 Second Film" and hopefully reel in some more producers!
Our "Question to the people" will mirror that from the website: "What is your perfect moment?"
Wish us luck!
Addi Somekh of Balloonhat.com (he's also the balloon-bassist in the awesome band Unpopable) recently went to a nursing home and made some spectacular balloon hats for the residents.
The experience got edited down and set to some sweet Evangenitals music (song: "Hello" from our new album Everlovin) and then end result is sheer heart-warming goodness.
this weekend i finished putting together the first pass of functionality and features for the next version of our website. the next step is to budget the site and figure out how much it's going to cost to drupalize.
i'm gonna call it an early night. it's almost 2am, i've been pulling several late nighters this week- usually up til 4 or 5am. fueled by a stream of ideas that keep me up. i like this sort of stuff. it's a part of the process i really enjoy, where the idea gets refined and reveals new solutions to its own challenges.
also, we posted a couple of new videos. here is a moment from our Road Trip, part of a "perfect moment" series we are starting:
Wow.
Last night at about 3am I suddenly was inspired to go on a wild "tagging" mission on Flickr. Part of the inspiration came from my discovery of the new features on Blogger which allow you to add slide-shows and videos to your page, based off of keywords. So I jumped on Flickr and went keyword crazy... making sure that I had "The Evangenitals" and "Juli Crockett" on every awesome photo from the Road to Oprah tour that I could find.
The people joining together to produce this film are really diverse. I wanted to introduce some of our newest producers via their 'perfect moments'. We ask our producers to choose a 'perfect moment' from their life to make into a one second film. Here are a few shared by some of our newest producers.
I traded with Kyle MacDonald!Submitted by juliocrockett on October 17, 2007 - 12:11am. events | funny | perfect moments | ramblings
This was a geeky highlight of the Road to Oprah tour for me so far. I got to trade Evangenitals' CD's and some stickers for Kyle MacDonald of One Red Paperclip fame's new book, a patch, and some stickers. It was pretty awesome. He and his wife, Dom, tagged along from our Tallahassee show at The Warehouse to my mom's house in St Pete and The 1 Second Film's presentation at St Pete High. He and Dom came out to the Evangenitals' show at the Skatepark of Tampa (SPOT) Transitions Art Gallery before heading in the opposite direction than us... to New Orleans, where we had been just days before. It was really cool to cross paths with them on the Road to Oprah!
