It was before dawn on the date of June 18, 1985, at the Huntington Hospital where my parents received their third child, Stephen Robert Hayes. I lived the first two years of my life in Greenlawn, New York and Huntington, New York with my two parents and my two siblings; my brother, older by five years and my older sister by three years. Wanting their children to grow up in a more rural area; my parents decided to move back to Massachusetts; where they grew up, and settled in South Deerfield, a village in the town of Deerfield.
While living in Massachusetts I received my schooling from preschool up to middle school in the Deerfield public school system. I then left the public school system to attend the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter High School (PVPA) of Hadley, Massachusetts; now of South Hadley. While at PVPA I had the pleasure of learning from former pianist/guitarist/musical director of Joe Crocker; Mitch Chakour, and soap opera star Robert Kelker-Kelly. I also had the immense delight of doing a concert with legendary singer Judy Collins at Calvin Theatre in Northampton, Massachusetts. After school I spent a couple of years working full time at various jobs; the longest of which was the Yankee Candle warehouses where I worked making, packaging, and shipping candles.
In 2005 I joined the United States military; wanting to fly I made the clear choice of enlisting in the Air Force as a career enlisted aviator. After finishing basic training the Air Force sent me off to five different schools so I could become a loadmaster on the C-5 Galaxy strategic heavy airlifter. When I returned from training I moved to my own place in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. I then went on to finish the rest of my training at my base, Westover ARB, MA, where I took my final five courses to become fully qualified as an Air Force loadmaster and I started flying full time. In August of 2007 I started a new adventure at the University of Phoenix, and I am currently working on a degree in Psychology.
Why I'm producing The 1 Second Film:
I thought it would be interesting to be part of this elaborate collaboration and I enjoy donating to worthy causes.
