If I could choose one perfect moment from my life to turn into a one-second film, it would have to be the moment the sun rose above the horizon after my night of camping in the Sahara outside Timbuktu. I'd woken up early that morning and was in the process of collecting sand with a young Tuareg child as the sky exploded from an inky black into a brilliant orange. I still have a vile of that sand at home.
