My perfect life moment happened only a couple months ago. I spent the semester travelling through Northern India with some other students. We stayed in an orphanage for 2 weeks and were encouraged to engage the children in English, so a friend and myself decided to put on a musical. We made up a fun show based on the Mario Brothers which incorporated easy American songs. The show was eventually performed in front of the entire school that the children attended. It was a huge success and I realized just how much I had come to care for these kids in only 2 weeks. But just as the kids were finishing their bow, the woman in charge of the orphanage declared that the directors (me and my friend) were now going to perform a song. We didn't know what she was talking about and my friend promptly ran out of the room leaving me alone. I had no idea what to sing. I picked a song from the Broadway show Wicked that I had just performed for my Grandmother's 80th birthday: For Good. I only chose it in the moment because I knew all the words, but as I sang, I realized just how pertinent the words were:" it well may be, that we may never meet again in this lifetime, so let me say before we part. so much of me is made of what I learned from you. You'll be with me like a handprint on my heart." it was wonderful
