Double Login

bagheadinc

I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but I have to log into the site twice before it will recognize me. I've tried multiple computers and browsers (IE, Firefox, and Opera). It's not a big problem since I can still login on the second attempt, but I though I would report the glitch.

Jason has tried to fix the double login issue. Please clear your cache- and it should be working. If the problem continues, please let us know! Thanks :)

I sent a bug request to Jason about the double login bug- thanks for reporting it. The feedback really helps.

For me, my computer just stays logged in.

Got some thoughts from Jason regarding the double login issue:

"This looks to be a long standing problem with Drupal:
http://www.filination.com/tech/2007/05/22/php-session-cookies-a-global-drupal-login-problem-fix/
http://drupal.org/node/56357

This is a patch for Drupal 5.1. I am looking for a solution for our version 4.7.6.

The workaround is to clear out your cookies and start over. I've added a bit of recommended code. Hopefully this will squash the bug. If not we'll have to do more research.

Also, we're allowing both http://www.the1sec... and http://the1sec....

This might be causing problems too.

Please let us know if the double login continues or if the code Jason added does the trick. And double thanks for logging in, twice.

Hmm...just tried again on all three browsers, seems to be working in Firefox and Opera, but still not in IE.

Did you check your firewall settings? I'm not even sure what firewall settings are, but I know Janeen was having a problem logging in, but then she changed her firewall settings and it worked...

I have found that in IE I need to disable my firewall to log on. I havent played with it in firefox. It is on our list of things to look into. Best work around for now.

I was able to fix it on my home computer by deleting the cookies and temporary internet files, but it's still doing the same thing on my work computer. From what I can see, it seems to be on my end, so I may play with it later if I get a chance.

Thanks for letting us know. I'll add it to our list and ask Jason about it.

Is anyone else having this issue- or any other login issues?

I have no double login issue, however on one of my machines, every time i leave the site I have to re-log in. My other comptuers have no such issue. Not sure what it is about that one machine though. Makes no sense. I can't think of any particular setting that would cause that.
