Road to Oprah Report We returned from the Road to Oprah with more stories that we can ever tell, thanks to more people than we can ever thank. Over the past 6 months, we raised enough to buy a school bus, converted it to bio-diesel, set up a collaborative tour, and drove 10,000 miles across America to ask Oprah for $1. On our way, we visited 28 states, giving dozens of presentations at various venues from YouTube & Google to skate parks, universities, a Veteran's Home, and street corners -- enlisting over 1,000 new Producers with donations ranging from $1 to $10,000! Ironically, the day we finally reached Chicago, Oprah was out of the country on an unexpected trip to Africa! Fortunately, our journey really is the destination. :) The good news is, we are now in touch with Oprah's Producers and editing clips from our tour to send them, with plans for another possible tour in the works, so our journey continues! Big thanks to EVERYONE that set up events, gave us a warm meal, a place to stay, or a dollar to keep going! Check out these Photo Highlights from our trip and Video of our YouTube Presentation! More Video coming soon- Subscribe to our YouTube Chanel to get updates! |

Help! Our Bus Needs a New Home! The Armory Center for the Arts NW Location (where our Road to Oprah Bus has been happily residing) is being torn down! This is unfortunate on many levels, and means our Bus is soon to be homeless. Therefore we are sending out a plea for HELP! We need ideas/contacts/referrals for a new home for our bus. If you know somebody who has a safe place we can park in the LA area, please let us know. Screen Credit will be provided! Budget Report - $250K Raised We have now raised over $250,000 in donations and in-kind services! We have put together a BUDGET OVERVIEW for everyone to see how donations have been spent, what we have accomplished, and what remains to be done. |

We Have a New Office - Editor and Interns Wanted! FotoKem has generously donated office space for The 1 Second Film's post-production! Combined with the recent $25K donation from Apple of workstations and editing software, we are finally able to start post-production! This means digitizing and transcribing over 400 hours of our documentary footage. We are also assembling our editing team. If you would like to help transcribe footage (no experience necessary), or if you are an experienced editor and would like to apply to edit our documentary, please contact us! Fundraising for Editing: $50K Goal! Our next goal is to raise funds in order to hire a full-time editor for our documentary. We have consulted with seasoned film producers (Stephen Nemeth and Albert Maysles) about the challenges of editing a documentary of this scale; with over 400 hours of footage, our film will take an estimated 12 months to edit and will be a full-time job. A good editor can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 a week. We estimate our editing will cost $100K (including an assistant editor). We are trying to raise the first half ($50K) as soon as possible to get started! If you can help, please login and donate $1 or more to add to your credit. Every penny really helps! Top Donors Big thanks to some of our new top Executive Producers! Michelle Brown who donated $10,000.32, Timothy Peierls who added $1,111.11 to his previous donation for a current total of $2,345.67 - regaining a coveted Top 11 spot, Coffee.net ($850), and Christopher Leps ($801). Generous support like this has really helped make a difference! |
