Road to Oprah site launched! :: What will Oprah do?

Hello to our 7,600+ Producers in 47 countries!

Big news: we have a bus, thanks to all of you! And our "Road to Oprah" site has officially launched! Can you digg it? Check out www.roadtooprah.com to see our map & schedule and please use our "TELL OPRAH" button- where you can let Oprah know we are coming! :)

Our bus was purchased entirely with money raised by thousands of small donations! Over the next 6 weeks we will be converting our bus to run on bio-fuel with bunks, mobile editing rig, rooftop stage, and credit-stand caboose. Then we will start driving 10,000 miles to Chicago, where we hope to ask Oprah for $1 to help us produce film history and bring the world together. What Will Oprah Do? www.whatwilloprahdo.com

Thanks to our producers who have spread the word- we have been invited by both YouTube and Google to give presentations at their headquarters while on our Road to Oprah! :) If you would like us to visit your school or organization, please check our map & schedule and contact us.

Painting BBQ Party- This Saturday!

We will be painting our bus this Saturday, August 11th from 11 am to 5 pm. All are welcome! Bring friends, kids, food to grill, drinks, sunscreen, and wear something you don't mind getting paint on. We will be filming for our documentary! Contact us if you can come so we can try to plan accordingly.

RTO Fundraising Update

Thanks to thousands of small on-line donations, (and our Lummis Day and Mr. T's Bowl Fundraisers) we have raised $6K of our $11K goal! We now have a bus (purchased for only $3K - check out the pics! We still need to raise funds to convert it, plus to cover food and gas for our crew. There will be 9 of us traveling for 45-days in an effort to realize our 5 Phase Plan to unite the world with collaborative art. Everyone on the crew is volunteering their time and talents to help make this happen, but there will be hard costs that we need help covering. If you can chip in $1, $10, $100, $1,000- or just refer a friend to become our Producer, every penny will really help! Donate here.

Build Your Crew - New Cinema 2.0 Feature

We added a fun new feature to our site allowing our producers to connect more by building your personal Crew. Once logged into your profile, you can add any of our producers to your Crew- from Kiefer Sutherland and Stephen Colbert to Ed Robbins and Mike Phelan O'Toole. Cinema 2.0 in effect! If you have a favorite friend or celebrity that you would like to work with that is not yet our producer, just tell them how to join The 1 Second Film so you can add them to your crew! :)

The 1 Second Band

The Road to Oprah would not be complete without the best travelling music in all the land. That's why the amazing folk/Americana band "The Love Punks" (AKA "The Evangenitals") will be touring with us, performing at our various stops along the way. Lead singer Juli Crockett recently quit her executive job to help pursue this Muppet Movie dream full-time! The Love Punks will be composing a concept album about our 1 Second adventures across the country, which will be incorporated in our making of documentary.
