I have been doing some writing and brainstorming, and thought I'd do it out loud so others could read and comment.
I am defining a list of my objectives for The 1 Second Film in an effort to take stock in where the film is, and to also analyze the priority and impact of the next steps.
Here are 5 Objectives of The 1 Second Film:
1. Involve as many people as possible in the creation of The 1 Second Film, embracing the process and craft in which the moment is made.
2. Starting with no money, camera, or crew, raise a million dollar budget $1 at a time, and create a non-profit independent film that anyone can be a part of.
3. Raise finishing funds to complete a feature length "making of" documentary as well as the compositing of the feature-length producer credit sequence.
4. Begin building an online community that will continue to grow with the Collaboration Foundation's future projects (5 Phase Plan and beyond) with the goal of gradually bringing the world together via collaborative art.
5. Raise the public profile of The 1 Second Film, maximizing the value of the art to be auctioned in order to raise as much as possible for our charitable beneficiary.
Other ideas and ideals: have fun, celebrate and appreciate the smallest contributions, create perfect moments, remove personal profit motivation from the creative equation, create a platform for creative dialogue that can address social issues, establish a non-profit foundation to provide oversight and support, set the stage for Phase 2.
I'm still working on these, so it would be cool to get some outside thoughts on anyone else's perceived objectives of the project. I think it's helpful to measure the success/shortcomings of the project.
