My Bio
Canadian-born Louphi was raised in Montreal speaking mostly french. This dynamic singer-songwriter has been active on the local scene since the late '90's, winning the coveted Jacques-Cossette media-press award in 1997, and then going on to win the Chicoutai award for Best Stage Show at the prestigious Festival international de la chanson de Granby and Best Singer at Petite-Vallée and St-Ambroise. Theatricality and originality mark Louphi's career moves... Part Bowie part Jacques Brel, he navigates in a stream of rich poetical influences, braving storms, and savouring more intimate moments. High energy performances punctuated by meaning and reflection draw the audience into a unique universe of international sound. Louphi has been invited to give shows in France, Belgium, Brazil and India. He's also a volonteer worker for G.R.I.S, a non-profit organisation that fights homophobia and he's a member of Artists for Peace. Wherever he goes, people rave about his cool mixture of poetry and drama, where every movement becomes live art. Paris, Brussels, Rio de Janeiro, Montreal - Where will his talent take him next? He currently lives in the Eastern Townships in Québec. He's also the lead singer of the jazz quartet "The Colporters".

Louphi's Perfect Moment

If you had to choose a 'perfect moment' from your life to make into a one-second film, what would it be?

My wedding day.
