My Bio
Julie Taymor is an acclaimed director of theater, opera and film. She is widely known for directing the stage musical, The Lion King, for which she became the first woman to win the Tony Award for directing a musical. In 1991, Taymor won the prestigious MacArthur "genius" award for her innovative work in theatre. Julie has directed films including "Titus," "Frida", and "Across the Universe." Julie joined our non-profit Board of Directors after meeting Nirvan to discuss possible stop-motion animation for Across the Universe. Schedule permitting, she may direct a frame of animation for one of our future productions.Production Blog
