My Bio
Cameron McCasland is a native Texan, whose work reflects a sensibility that comes from being raised under pure blue Texas skies by an actress and an electrician. After attending East Texas Baptist University, McCasland began his work shooting live concerts and music videos for Grammy winners Don Henley, Audio Adrenaline, Sixpence None The Richer, Newsboys, among others in Texas and California. He then moved on to Nashville, TN working on feature films, music videos, and television commercials. Fashionable - A Music Video for Quiet Company, McCasland’s is currently recieveing rave reviews internationally with its recent play on Mtv.com as well as winning "Best Music Video" at both Crossroads Film Festival in Jackson, MS and Fearless Film Festival in Fort Worth, TX. The video also recently won the "Silver Remi Award" at Worldfest International Film Festival in Houston, TX for Rock R&R Music Video. It shows the raw energy of Quiet Company presented in a performance style that has been abandoned for novelty by other film makers. McCasland has also partnered with Nashville’s Dr. Gangrene to direct multiple episodes of Creature Feature which appears on the CW WNAB 58 Nashville, TN. He had previously contributed articles for the shows website which won a Rondo at the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Film Awards. McCasland comes from the modern generation of video store film school graduates. Combining the glamour of old Hollywood, with the passion of modern indie film making.
Why are you supporting The 1 Second Film project?
I love the concept of it. Multitudes of people coming together for a common goal.

This week, we finally got Varnish installed on our servers. Varnish helps our Drupal site performance by making better use of cache to serve up content (instead of the database), and will allow our site to handle a lot more anonymous visitors (hopefully!).

We are still making other site improvements. The site is still pretty slow, and we also need to improve performance for logged in users. Basically, there is a lot of tech to do. We don't have the resources to do everything, but we want to make  sure we make the most of what we have.
