My Bio
I was born in Manila, Philippines on August 30th, 1985 with the name Marilyn Ngoho Malinao. Because of the government problems with Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos and also because my birth mother was only 13 years old, I was adopted by a wonderful family living in Wisconsin, USA where I was raised. I am very excited to be part of this project and will most certainly be promoting it in my hometown of Milwaukee, WI. I am attending UWM, majoring in English and Theatre and hope to go to New York University for graduate school. I have always been active in the arts in school plays as an actress and crew member, and also in the musicals as a cellist in the pit orchestra. I've also directed some children's theatre and am directing an independent film this summer for my graduate portfolio. After English/Writing and Theatre, my passion is traveling. I've studied abroad in Limoges, France and will be studying abroad this summer in Rome. I've also gone to school in England, spent a month living in Paris, been to Ireland, Canada, and many states in the US.
Why are you supporting The 1 Second Film project?
I believe in the project and I really think believe in the Global Fund for Women. It's a really great cause and I love that you're getting people from all walks of life involved!

Amanda Reavey's Perfect Moment

If you had to choose a 'perfect moment' from your life to make into a one-second film, what would it be?

The day social services put me in the arms of the family that adopted me. It was December 5th and it was the first time I had ever seen snow.

Just wanted to give a quick update. After our launch last week, we began encountering several bugs with the donation system.

The biggest bugs are related to the donation system. Currently, if new users try to join by clicking "Donate" - they do not get proper producer credit or a crew profile. Also, if users click "Join for Free" and then decide to "Join and Donate" - the site is not working properly, and the user does not get a profile. And finally, if registered users donate toward another crew member, the donation is not registering properly.
