Welcome Everyone from Lummis Day!

lummis stand w/ the band

We had a great time over the weekend meeting lots of people at the Lummis Day Festival and signing up almost 100 new producers!

Several friends volunteered to help set up our credit stand, and it was a great day outside with good music and good food- the Evangenitals especially rocked.

We had parents, grandparents, children, and even little tots signing up. Someone found $100 in the grass and gave it to us! But then we found the person who lost it and gave it back... but we still raised about $300, which is a start toward money to get our bus for our road-trip.

The Hollywood Informant Wraps!

Lamsonid Eferetil

"The Hollywood Informant" (a black-and-white film noir production that delves into murder, deceit, and corruption in prohibition-era Los Angeles) has wrapped filming (The Geeworld Studios / Habit Forming Films). The film was shot entirely on location at the Lacy Street Production Center in Downtown Los Angeles, which credits include
"Catch Me If You Can", "Adam's Family", "L.A. Confidential", and "Renaissance Man". More information and production stills will soon be posted on the official website at:

sponsor our bus!

We need to raise $11,000 to buy an old diesel school bus ASAP for our Road to Oprah. If you would like to help, please donate $1 or more to become our producer and tell friends. To make a large donation and become a Sponsor of our Bus and Road Trip, please contact us. If you are a good fit, we can paint your name (or company logo) on our bus, in addition to a tax-deductible Executive Producer credit, andan appearance in our documentary! Or if you have a bus you can give us, that works too :) We are hoping to get the bus in the next month so we can be converting it into bio-diesel and getting it road ready over the summer.

Meeting potential 1 Second Film crew members and making progress!

gianelle

Yesterday Nirvan and I met a potential Intern and Volunteer. We were so excited to welcome them and tell them about The 1 Second Film and how they can get involved.  I know that they could both bring a lot to the table.  So, we’ve been working on the Road Trip, and we’re making progress.  I’ve been doing some research about the bus, putting together spreadsheets of prospective contacts in different states for Road Trip stops, and writing press releases.  I really feel that the Road Trip is getting on its way.  I’m working developing these press releases  in addition to our press kits.  I also am going to start researching some possible sponsors and will begin to contact them soon.  But, before I do that, some press stuff needs to be done so we’ll have something good to present.  My first few weeks at The 1 Second Film have been so much fun.  I’m learning a lot and working hard towards our goals so that we can make it all happen, especially one of our biggest priorities – THE ROAD TO OPRAH!  Life is good, 1 Sec Film is good, summer is good.  I can’t complain.  In fact, I’m screaming with joy! Hip hip hooray!

if anyone is in LA area sunday, we will be setting up our credit stand at the Lummis Day festival where the Evangenitals are playing a free show! Should be fun; we are going to be selling $1 producer credits and fundraising for our road-trip this summer. We need to buy a bus! Speaking of... here is a road-trip flickr set with pics from our road trip planning with the Evangenitals last week.

today i missed b-day bbqs, plays, and parties. instead stayed home to work at the atomic pixel level. i didn't mean to miss everything, but just became totally absorbed. computers, computers, photoshop. sometimes i lose track of time. but i'm happy to have made some progress. mike and janeen have been helping mock up new blog layouts so we can give them to jason for the next round of web cleanup; we need to design layouts for all the different blogs (my blog, the producers' blog, plus the individual blogs) so that they are more intuitive, especially with regard to the content in the left side column.

Potential Equipment Sponsor

nirvan

Got word from Hal yesterday that a couple of big companies are interested in potentially donating some equipment (computers, harddrives, cameras, etc.) to help complete our film. That's pretty exciting news. I'll keep you all posted of developments. We are trying to get whatever equipment we can donated to cut costs whenever possible; companies who make donations will receive producer credits in exchange for the value of the donated services. Speaking of which, pair.com moved up another $997 thanks to their continued hosting services.

back in LA

got back in LA today; started working on T1SF before I got home, catching up on calls while riding the Fly Away to Union Station. I love the Fly Away: $3 from LAX direct to downtown. good deal.

We are getting ready to start with a new round of web development to make several small fixes to our site. Gianelle has been interviewing a few potential summer interns and organizing our various projects. Also got a 1 Second Magic Trick video from Matthew LaCurts , aka bagheadinc.com, who is one of our Executive Producers:

e mcd's life philosophy...

Erin McDaniel

i would like to start by saying that i've been involved with this project since i was 17, so it's been about 2 years. the reason i was interested at first is because i knew that this would be the start to my film career, all i've ever wanted to do in life is work behind the camera... but now, this project has taken on a new light for me. as i've grown-up a bit in the last 2 years, graduated high school, left home, moved into my own apartment, have a full time job and go to school year round, it forced me to appriciate other things in life. Love, art, real beauty, friendship, money, sleep and time.
