You're all Hired

In our newsletter, I put out a call for a part-time progect manager. I was pretty excited that a few of our producers actually sent in resumes! Yesterday I interviewed a candidate, Gianelle, a recent USC communications grad who had help set up our USC presentation some time back. Gianelle is really cool, and really excited to help out. So we are going to give it a shot; I'll be passing off a lot of projects to her next week, and we will begin organizing volunteers and various 'things.'

Pretty excited to have some help. Things should start moving a little faster after we get up to speed.

I'm meeting with another applicant next week who may be able to help with our web development and other projects. I'm pretty excited about that. The more of these projects that I can get off my plate, the sooner I can focus on editing and doing some of the other things that have been getting put off.

Yesterday, I talked to Julie Crockett, lead singer from the Evangenitals (AKA The Love Punks), who suggested having their band join us on our Road Trip and making songs about The 1 Second Film adventures. This sounds like so much fun. I'm really excited about this idea. The plan is to get an old diesel school bus, convert it to bio-diesel, and take it cross country in Sept/Oct. We will be building a stage on the roof of the bus, and bringing the credit stand that levi, sean, and I built some time back. We will visit universities and houseparties, giving a presentation about The 1 Second Film and the 5 phase plan, and meeting as many of our producers as we can. The plan is to end our trip in Chicago and to see if we can get Oprah on board. After this road trip, we will wrap up production of The 1 Second Film documentary.

It should be a lot of fun, and I'm really looking forward to it. We are going to start setting up the road trip soon; that's one of the things our Project Manager will be helping with. We will also be building an entire area of our website to allow our producers to help set the road trip up, house parties, and events. We are gonna need lots of help; if you want to be a part of this, just fill in your volunteer preferences in your profile. We will be contacting producers who want to help as we go. I'll post more of our road-trip plan as it develops.

I just finished catching up with a mountain of paperwork and accounting. probably one of my least favorite things to do, but had to be done. Gianelle and I are meeting Saturday to start getting her up to speed.
