For those interested in how a Drupal site is developed, I'm posting our current "to do" list for our web development.

Web development happens in stages, much like film production. 'Pre-production' of the new site is now pretty much done. We have a detailed technical spec, a plan of attack, and a bunch of stuff to do. We have started production, and will be heavy into it for the next two months. Then post-production is the launch and all the bug fixes.

HTML and CSS Coding

Task for HTML and CSS Coding.

Vladimir Mijin: Install Mantis

Basic Drupal Installation

Tasks for Basic Drupal installation.

Vladimir Mijin: Please install Editor as part of current installation. I like FCKeditor, but if you have more experience with Tiny that works for me. This will give client the option to start working on static pages.

Site Setup

Site setup will be a build of the site with core drupal modules working and limited registration and buddylist functionality. Site may work in Garland, but not in 1secondfilm theme.

Vladimir Mijin: Registration v. 0.5 complete. Not all functionality, but work working. Most content types completed.

client will be able to start inputing the static pages into Drupal.

Vladimir Mijin: Donation Module chosen and development started.

Vladimir Mijin: All contributed modules installed and set up. Note: not all content types or views will be set up.

Vladimir Mijin: Editor Installed and working, Client can start inputing static pages.



core functionality completed

At this phase the registration process will work, and we will have all content types input and setup. Again functionality will be the goal and may not be 100% themed.

Vladimir Mijin: Registration v. 1.0

Vladimir Mijin: Content Types set up.

Vladimir Mijin: All modules working, and up to spec. Client will be able to test all functions.

Vladimir Mijin: Theme 70% complete.



Data Import

Michal Minecki: Internal QA of data import.

Nirvan Mullick: Client QA of data import.

Nirvan Mullick: Client sign off for second 1/3 payment.

We are paying for the web development in thirds. The first third was paid upfront, the next payment will be when we reach the mid-point of development, and the final third is upon completion of the site.
