Hi, my name is Nirvan. I'm the director of The 1 Second Film, and keep this blog as a production journal. We also have an open Producers Blog and a collection of perfect moments.
We are excited to welcome the newest member of our Board of Directors, Stephen Nemeth. The members of our Board will oversee The 1 Second Foundation after it has become a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
Stephen has produced such films as Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Ivan's Xtc., and Dogtown Z-Boys. He also heads up the film division of Rhino Records. He brings to our Board a wealth of experience and has a talent for putting the right people together and making cool things happen. Stephen was really excited about The 1 Second Film and the potential of the various sequels. That Stephen has great connections in both the film and music worlds will really help when we start to put together THE 2nd SECOND FILM.
Benjamin Goldhirsh, one of the other members of our Board, introduced us to Stephen. Our Board is really coming together- having people like Stephen Nemeth and Albert Maysles will really help us to pull off our absurdly epic non-profit sequels. It's like putting together a team of superheros. Once a few more pieces are in place, we will approach the writer we want to write THE 11,111 SECOND FILM. If everything comes together the way we are planning it, this could really make a big difference. It's pretty exciting.
Stephen also gave us $10 to become a producer. Then on the way out of the office, I sold three more credits to Zach, his friend Brent, and Keith the landscaper who was delivering some granite for the garden- together this power team contributed another $32 to the cause:

These donations are often symbolic and mean alot more than just the dollar amount. For instance, we continue to get new producers on-line every day, including two identical twins from New Zealand who wrote to us the following:
"I was looking up actors on IMDB pro, I like to see what they are working on and found your link as a credit on an actors list of projects, clicked on it and found your site and thought it was too funny (and amazingly smart!) to not be a part of... plus I thought you might want some more New Zealanders to add to the list (if you have any to begin with, we only have a population of 3 million so we may not be represented yet!)" - Angela Williams
"I heard about The 1 Second Film from my twin sister who was in the room with me. We chose the amount by using the times we were born. 10.10 and 10.14." -Michelle Williams
Thought that was a really cool donation. I e-mailed them and asked for them to send us a picture promoting our film.
Oh, and we do have at least one other Producer from New Zealand: the kick-ass Zoe Bell (aka Uma Thurmon's stunt double in Kill Bill). and we have reports that Peter Jackson has visited our website in the last few days, so maybe we will have a few more New Zealanders in the future... Ideally, we would like to have all 3 million of 'em on board.
I also met with Sabrina Taylor and we started to make plans for our first big fundraiser. That should be exciting. so far we have a date, April 20 (4/20) which Sabrina told me is a great date because it's a pot smokers holiday (for those suffering from glucoma). i don't suffer from glucoma so i hadn't even thought of that. it's going to be at Cinespace- they are going to donate the space to help our cause. also, one of our celebrity producers has agreed to MC the event. we are working on getting a band to play and we hope to get some cool stuff donated to auction off. I'll fill you all in on the details as they become available.
also, i finaly got in touch with the lady at the zoo! seems like there will be a lot of bureaucracy trying to do what we want to do, but she was cool and wants to help us find a way around the red tape. that's pretty exciting. if this plan comes together, it will be really funny.
i have a friend in town visiting, so i'm taking a few days off-line
