Picked up our Bus :)

Hello everyone,

Yesterday Levi and I went down to Oceanside to pick up our school bus! We drove it back from Oceanside to the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena- our summer home where we will be fixin it up for our Road to Oprah. It drove really well, by the way.

After we parked the bus, I just sat there looking at it for a while- our bus! I just can't believe we have a school bus! That we raised the money to buy it dollar-by-dollar with thousands of small on-line donations continues to amaze me. I feel thankful everyday for all the support this project has received; looking at our giant bus really put it in perspective.

while I was sitting there, I remembered back 3 years ago when I started fundraising with a xerox flier and no idea what was going to happen. And now I'm looking at a school bus... a school bus that we are going to drive 10,000 miles in...to ask Oprah for $1 to join our crew. I have done some absurd things in my life, but this might take the cake. I still have no idea whats going to happen, but I think it might be awesome.

There is still so much to do before we hit the road; it's a bit overwhelming at times, but we are going for it. Only 7 weeks...
