Hi, my name is Nirvan. I'm the director of The 1 Second Film, and keep this blog as a production journal. We also have an open Producers Blog and a collection of perfect moments.
Our IMDb listing seems to be happening to some degree. Our title is up; once they start adding the names, things might get out of hand. The truth is, I won't mind if they wait a little longer so that we can try and get our database programmed/switch servers before we get overwhelmed. But, in the meantime, we are starting to shift our focus on the next plan(s).
There have been some developments behind the scenes:
1. We have been invited to Cannes by the UNleashed crew that brought us to that Grammy Party. They have again hired our Executive Producer Sabrina Taylor to throw their Party. Supposedly they are renting a 150ft yacht for 10 days of insanity. Their guest list is absurd- we are talking Fantasy Island. I'm not going to go into it, but one of the guests of honor is a Living Legend, and it would be very unbelievable if we got a chance to meet him. We are working on some new fliers/marketing material designed specifically for this trip.
2. I met with Ben Goldhirsh of Reason Pictures yesterday. Ben is going to be on our Board of Directors for the non-profit that we are forming (to put together our sequels). We began to discuss ways to start putting the idea of The 11,111 Second Film out there. We decided that the best way will be to get the writer that we want attached to write the script. But before we approach him we are going to try and add a few more folks to our Board.
3. We are making plans for our first fundraising party. We have a tentative venue (Cinespace) and Sabrina is helping us out again. If it goes well, we could raise at least $4000 in one night, maybe more, depending on the band we get to perform. Some money would be a big help to us right about now.
4.The Independent Film Festival of Boston might be putting together a panel about Guerilla Film Marketing and Alternative Distribution. The panel might include Crispin Glover, a Blair Witch guy, and The 1 Second Film. That would be really fun, especially to get another chance to follow up with Crispin. The IFFB is a great festival. I've had short films there the last two years; at last years fest I had started to sell credits (that is where I met Bill Pullman), and most of the festival's programmers are our producers.
5. The TOM GREEN reunion is temporarily on hold. I talked to Tom and his manager and they are cool with meeting up to watch Andy's message, but I want to do it in a very specific place; I've been trying to set up the location, but it's proving very difficult. I've been calling this place for two weeks.
so, these are some of the main avenues we are working on. also trying to get a better video camera/sound equipment donated, and looking into organizing a speaking tour at Universities. If you go to college, and would like us to come to your school to do a presentation about The 1 Second Film and our various sequels, please get in touch.
Tonight I'm going to see the Roller Derby on the roof of an unmarked warehouse in Chinatown.
