Hi, my name is Nirvan. I'm the director of The 1 Second Film, and keep this blog as a production journal. We also have an open Producers Blog and a collection of perfect moments.
if anyone is in LA area sunday, we will be setting up our credit stand at the Lummis Day festival where the Evangenitals are playing a free show! Should be fun; we are going to be selling $1 producer credits and fundraising for our road-trip this summer. We need to buy a bus! Speaking of... here is a road-trip flickr set with pics from our road trip planning with the Evangenitals last week.

today was bustling. Jason made a few site improvements today; seperating director/producer blog posts, removing extra spaces in recent comment layout, and creating a distinction between the order in which comments are displayed on forum posts vs. profiles. details details.
meanwhile, a potential summer intern came by today. aaron smith from vermont. Aaron is in los angeles for the summer taking an intern program at USC and looking for an internship. he arrived 2 hours early wearing a dress shirt and tie; i had just got off the phone with jason and was expecting gianelle. so i was surprised to find this well-dressed extremely tall fellow. he was very cool; like many people, a bit surprised to see that we aren't some big company with offices and 30 staff members. for those who don't know, our 'studio' is my apartment/loft in downtown Los Angeles. most of our crew is spread out around the world and commute virtually.
Another USC student came in today as well, a really nice girl named Lyndsay who was looking to help us with volunteering. She found our project on Idealist.org, which is a really great resource for non-profits looking to connect with volunteers, and visa-versa. I'm also meeting with a volunteer editor on Saturday. We are a bit short on equipment in terms of editing equipment, work stations, and hard drives, but everyone has been willing to be resourceful- so we are borrowing/sharing and getting done what we can with what we have.
It will be interesting to see how this projects grows over the summer. We have a ton we want to do; everything continues to grow.
we have also been redesigning layout for the producer profiles to begin planning for future community and collaborative features. last night mike b and i were photoshopping some cool new ideas back and forth; the new idea is to use individual profiles as a communication hub that is a bit more dynamic and would increaes the ability to communicate with everyone.
it may take some time before these features get implemented, but the ideas are developing in what feels to be the right direction, which is exciting.
more later...
