Hi, my name is Nirvan. I'm the director of The 1 Second Film, and keep this blog as a production journal. We also have an open Producers Blog and a collection of perfect moments.
here are some of the things that have been happening recently:
One of our newest producers, Barry "Saskatchewan" Seymore Watson Jr., blogged about 'The Charleston Drive' - his plan to hit the streets of Charleston, South Carolina to promote The 1 Second Film and ask folks about their perfect moments. Looking forward to a field report from that adventure.
New Producers continue to join online, including a $250.01 Executive Producer donation from Carol Gunby from San Jose (who found us on YouTube). Thanks so much to everyone who has joined and helped to spread the word!
We are slowly saving up for a major round of web improvements. On that front, I finally finished designing the main pages and have been making detailed notes of functionality. Jason Salter, a Drupal developer who worked on our current site, is taking a look at the new designs and preparing a bid. Meanwhile, I'm looking for competitive bids from other experienced Drupal developers, so if that's you, please contact us if interested. I will also be attending the Los Angeles Drupal meetup next week to talk with local developers. The new site is going to rock.
Meanwhile, I've been getting our bookkeeping in order. Probably the most fun I've ever had. Seriously though, I'm looking forward to wrapping that up. Hopefully by the end of this week I will get everything in to the accountants.
I've also been working with our pro-bono legal team to finish our 501(c)3 filing for the Collaboration Foundation. This has been something that has been starting and stopping for some time now, but we are really close- hopefully two weeks away from getting everything filed.
I'm also gearing up to start hitting the streets again to fundraise and sign more folks up. Once I get all this paperwork and web design work off my shoulders, I'm planning to take our bus and credit stand caboose around LA. The short term goal will be to raise the funds we need to get the new website built. I will probably be able to take a lot of the transcribing and editing work with me and work mobile. That could be pretty cool.
And for an absurd sidenote, I ran into Jon C. Reilly at an art opening over the weekend. It's always funny to randomly re-run into our celebrity producers. I said hi and thanked him for the dollar :)
So that's what's up. I'm gonna dive back into these piles of paperwork.
best to all,
n
i'm so excited for the new site, for the development of the collaboration foundation, and for HITTING THE STREETS once again! we're so close to 10K producers it just makes me want to get out there and get buskin'.
i've got more musicians than you can shake a stick at who are just chompin' at the bit to play on top of that bus...
can't wait!!!
