Happy New Year + Newsletter

Happy New Year all!

Juli and I have been putting together a newsletter year in review, and finally got it sent out this afternoon. The newsletter is archived here: http://www.the1secondfilm.com/newsletter/9

There has been a lot of archiving work lately, aside from digitizing video, we have put together a budget overview, a newsletter archive menu, and a similar archive menu for presentations along our Road to Oprah tour, so you can check out an individual stop to see pics, etc. We have also been labelling and tagging tons of photos on flickr. Managing all this media always takes more time than you expect. We are still working on video.

All in all, this has been a really good year for this project. While there is still a lot to do, i'm reflecting on all that has been done in 2007: completing this new website, launching our road to oprah tour, and getting editng equipment and an office space for post production. not to mention growing with several thousand new producers, and welcoming new core collaborators like Juli and Lisa Dee.

So, as we enter 2008, we will be focussing on post-production, fundraising to hire a full-time editor, and completing the documentary. We are also going to be working on the site, trying to improve the ability to participate and organize. it's still a challenge- but waay better than it was in 2006, :)
