Google Grant and New Homepage

Two big pieces of news to share. First, we received a Google Grant. This will mean up to $120,000 in free Google Adwords for our non-profit ($10k/month). This is something I've been working toward for awhile- first with getting our 501(c)3 status for the Collaboration Foundation, and then applying 7 months ago (the review process takes awhile). The Google Grant is a really great program, and I am excited to put it to use to drive more targeted traffic to our site.

Speaking of our site, our brand new homepage has finally gone live! The new home page has been in the works for awhile. I wanted to simplify the free call to action (add your name to the credits), and also pull out some of the project highlights right up front.

If you rollover any of the names on the homepage, you will see little pop-up rollovers that include video and some stats. I'll be featuring different crew members on the home page as we go. Their is also a video player that lets us share multiple production video highlights right from the homepage. Check out some of the videos you may have missed.

And finally, on the bottom right is a little Crew Stat and Fundraising Progress Bar. We are now breaking our fundraising goals into smaller chunks so that it is clearer what we are raising funds for and how much we have raised toward that goal. Our current goal is to raise $50,000 to put toward editing our feature-length making of documentary. We currently have raised about $10,000 toward that goal (20%).

I think that the new site, combined with the Google grant, will really help us to get there. We also have a Sponsor of the Moment bar in the header, and will be making this available monthly to ew sponsors. If you or your company is interested, please contact me and we will set you up.Got some other ideas to put into motion soon too.

We are still bug checking the new site and will continue to make fixes, so if you find any bugs, or have any feedback, please let me know.

In other production news, we have officially moved out of our production office in FotoKem. Currently, all of our gear is in limbo in my place. I'm in the process of getting the new office set up, which is where I'm hoping editing will take place.

I'll be updating more regularly, I was just waiting until this site was up and have been slammed with my day job.

Big thanks to all of our crew for the continued support.

I was seriously thinking the film was dead until I read this. Glad to hear there's some progress once again.
