EpicFu and a new Top 11

First off, the folks at EpicFu (Zadi, Steve, and Rick) are super cool. I first met Zadi at a Creative Commons Salon in downtown LA shortly before taking off on our Road to Oprah tour. They expressed interest in doing a piece on our project, and got in touch when we got back.

They have been building a cutting edge tech based show, with a super small crew and lots of good ideas. Their website is awesome, and they are all about community being built around new media. We streamed the EpicFu visit live earlier today via our Justin.tv/the1secondfilm channel. It was a fun visit, and we had several folks join us virtually online during the production meeting.

EpicFu has been climbing the web's popularit charts, getting over 3 million views on YouTube recently, and attracting lots of new viewers with consistently interesting content. Check out their show! I guess we will be on it sometime in January? I'll post a link when its up.

Also, one of our Executive Producers has moved back into the Top 11- last night the mysterious Timothy Pierels, one of our top Executive Producers (who I blogged about a few days ago), moved up to the #9 Executive Producer spot by adding $1,111.11 to his previous donation of $1,234.56 for a current total of $2,345.67! Thanks again Timothy!

Timothy had been in the Top 11 long ago, but slipped out of the Top 11 recently as the donatins have grown bigger. I think this is a direct relation of people starting to see how this project is growing and what we are creating. It really means a lot to us when our producers donate more to help sustain this project.

Yesterday was a pretty inspiring day of support, with Coffee.net and Timothy helping us raise a over $1,900 combined.

So where is all this money going? For those interested, I have been putting together a Budget Overview page, which I published today.

This page is still under construction, but I think it's helpful to share some of the things we have accomplished to date, as well as to list out some of the major production costs we are still fundraising for (or looking to get donated). This page will be updated as we go.
