Hi, my name is Nirvan. I'm the director of The 1 Second Film, and keep this blog as a production journal. We also have an open Producers Blog and a collection of perfect moments.
I think everyone is just exhausted after a week of non-stop parties and hustling. Everyone here is doing the same thing as us- hustling a film project or themselves- it's all just to different degrees of scale. I sold a few more credits but didn't really feel like talking anymore- I get the sense that everyone is ready to go back to their lives. Spend most of the day writing and then walk back to my flat. On my way home I give Selma Hyak a flier as she gets in her limosine and then continue to my room where I fall asleep. I wake up to the sound of fireworks which I watch from my window; closing night ceremonies. I listen to Bob Dylan and write letters to friends far away. Tomorrow I will pack and take a train to Nice where I will leave my heavy bag in my hotel and take a light walk with nothing in my pockets...maybe spend some time on the beach. Packed my bags and caught a train to Nice. It's NICE... On the train I was video-taping the train tracks as they passed by. I find it hypnotic, much like the up and down arch of telephone lines when you drive cross country. These two older French women sitting across from me asked me why I was filming the ground and I tried to explain that I was making a documentary about The 1 Second Film. They were curious so I tried to explain further. What a refreshing change of pace; these ladies had nothing to do with the film festival. One spoke English and translated to her friend. These ladies were really sweet and ended up buying Associate Producer credits; we talked about perfectly serene moments and also tennis. They were on their way to Italy and have known each other since they were schoolgirls. They gave me a list of things to do while in Nice, and so I'm off to do them. No bag on my back and nothing in my pockets...
Too cool... I love the story that's unfolding here. Much more than the 1 Second Film, me thinks.
