Hi, my name is Nirvan. I'm the director of The 1 Second Film, and keep this blog as a production journal. We also have an open Producers Blog and a collection of perfect moments.

Jet lag and having stayed up til 5 kept me asleep until 6pm! When I finally woke the day was done. I tried calling the airport to get my fancy pants, but couldn't find a person to talk to in English.
By the time craig and ja and I went into Cannes it was already late. We put in another call to The Commander, but couldn't get through. He has a 'Commander Hotline' that leaves #'s where he can be reached all around the world. We decided to try to sneak into the Hotel Magestic- perhaps the most exclusive hotel in Cannes. We pulled out all our camera equiptment, including the microphone with our #1 mic box and a camera light and we pretended to be a news crew. The security stopped us at the door and we told them we were Channel 1. They radioed it in and we thought all was lost, but a moment later they waved us in.
we made our way to the hotel bar and toasted with $7 water. Then we worked the room and sold a few credits. But nothing major happened. We met a few nice people and also a few cold people, including one table of folks who apparently we had already met in Toronto. They still weren't interested. But it was exciting to have snuck into the hotel magestic and we were feeling a little better for it. Then we got a call from Goldhirsh who spotted The Commander on the streets. Goldhirsh passed his phone to The Commander and we were talking to him at last. He was headed to the hotel Carlton bar and wanted to meet us there in 20 minutes.
So we went to the hotel Carlton looking for The Commander. We kept looking at the tables- who was The Commander? We kept looking for a man in a whith suit chomping on a cigar. Couldn't spot him. We went up to a table of five wealthy looking individuals and asked if they knew The Commander. One guy knew him for 10 years but seemed surprised that we were looking for him. We ended up joining them and eventually were talking about THE 1 SECOND FILM. They got really excited- but then left without buying a single credit. the selling in Cannes is a tough sell and we were left with a pretty bad feeling. We walked to a club called VIPs- apparently the next stop for The Commander after the Carlton. Outside VIPs was a crowd of people in line- inside was blasting techno. There was a pile of vomit on the asphault. We thought about doing our news crew bit again, but then thought better of it- VIPs was the last place we wanted to go. So we called it a night. Another disappointing night...
