While it's no "Road To Oprah" that the good folks in charge of this ship have in the works, filmmaker Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Clerks II...) is going to be rocking the house on his birthday here - http://blog.myspace.com...
(see how I got in a little pimping for the big guy? I'm a fan) And I will be attending the Q&A, which as recent word would have it, could wind up on a DVD. Well, as you might've guessed, plans are to drop some science on him regarding the 1. If he doesnt already know something about it, well, I think he'd be all about it, kids! How could he donate, or we facilitate that? That's something I'd need to know - other than that, I came here (my "The 1" blog) to spill some verbiage and share my idea and plans. Now that you've read all this mess, why don't you take a look at the things we all love about the ol' internet - pictures AND videos!
Here is a shot of Kevin and I after an interview he did at "my" TV station last year, promoting his latest work, Clerks II :
And here are the videos featuring said interview. It's a classic for all the wrong reasons - quite enteraining.
Feel free to comment with suggestions regarding this entry.
P.S. I will make my best effort to take a photo of myself repping that "1 Second Film" flyer very soon. Additionally, is it cool to shoot a video promoting the project- some in studio stuff, some B-roll?
Much thanks.
Love to you all.
Peace. Out.
Hey Mike, Kevin would be an awesome producer to have on our crew.
i have yet to run across him, and have no idea if he has heard of this. let us know what you find out!
As for donating, Kevin could donate online via our site, or just give him our contact info if he is down and wants to meet up.
we have had several industry folk donate online or set up meetings to arrange support. we definitely appreciate it; just be sure to be respectful of the context and keep it fun. you don't want to hijack his birthday party, but if the moment is right, it could be cool.
as for video, you are definitely invited to record something and upload it to your producer profile. check our FAQs about that if you need help or let us know if you have additional questions. we are collecting producer submitted videos to include in our documentary and promo materials.
tell us why you support T1SF or show us what you are doing to help support it (i.e. spreading the word to Kevin Smith). that would be awesome.
have fun with this!
Right on, man. I PM'ed him on his message board with the link to the site if he's interested.
don't forget to video it!!!!
