While Nirvan has been working with Jason on building the site, he's been working with me on the 'bells and whistles'. Well, at least the bells. Right now it's the flash animations that will pepper the site. The 'produced by' animation under the menu, the lovely producer quotes on the bottom, the slideshow which will be featured in the middle of the homepage. We usually go through several styles, then end up settling on the simplest and most elegant version. It's done when it just feels 'right'

why is my credit name listed as user instead of my profile name?
We could not batch load producer names as "user names" because a lot of producer names contained foreign characters and other text not supported by Drupal for user login. It's not ideal, but producers will be able to change their user name to whatever they like.
I've changed my user name, however my producer credit name is still showing up in my blog entry. i'd rather have it as my user name, right?
I was a bit confused; the thing is, we generated user names from the database; the usernames could not include foreign characters, so a lot of user names are things like "2222 2222". For things like the Producer of the Moment blog, we wanted the entries to be connected with actual producer names, not just a randomly generated number/user name.
for that reason, we set it so that it was the producer name that would be listed in places like this.
But since we do not allow users to edit producer names, it does create a lack of flexibility, and might not be the best solution. I'll ask jason about this.

sure bet. the same would probably go for the forum, which is also displaying my producer credit name. Which leads to the question, what is the username for, other than logging in, which makes no sense.
you were right; we changed it. now it's the username.
