We just launched a new site feature called "My Crew" that allows our producers to build their own crew lists. You can add any of our producers to your Crew, from Stephen Colbert to Kiefer Sutherland to Juli Crockett!
Just visit a producer's profile when you are logged in, and click the "Add to My Crew" link. If you have friends and family already on here, add them to your crew as well. Oh, you can add me too!
very exciting news, we now have a bus!
levi and i went down to Oceanside today to inspect some school busses that were being put up for auction on ebay. We couldn't afford the really big one (84 seater), but were able to win this 54 seater:

It's standard size- not super big, but will make for a cozy conversion. We won the auction with a bid of $3,100 - a pretty good price for a 1993 bus. It's an automatic with a diesel engine, and a little over 300,000 miles on it. hoping it will make it another 10,000! We will be converting our bus to bio-diesel, pulling out the seats, and paintingit up for our Road to Oprah, leaving in 8 weeks!
1. A call to adventure, which the hero has to accept or decline
2. A road of trials, regarding which the hero succeeds or fails
3. Achieving the goal or "boon," which often results in important self-knowledge
4. A return to the ordinary world, again as to which the hero can succeed or fail
While it's no "Road To Oprah" that the good folks in charge of this ship have in the works, filmmaker Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Clerks II...) is going to be rocking the house on his birthday here - http://blog.myspace.com...
(see how I got in a little pimping for the big guy? I'm a fan) And I will be attending the Q&A, which as recent word would have it, could wind up on a DVD. Well, as you might've guessed, plans are to drop some science on him regarding the 1. If he doesnt already know something about it, well, I think he'd be all about it, kids! How could he donate, or we facilitate that? That's something I'd need to know - other than that, I came here (my "The 1" blog) to spill some verbiage and share my idea and plans. Now that you've read all this mess, why don't you take a look at the things we all love about the ol' internet - pictures AND videos!
YouTube just launched a new custom video player that we are using to share some clips fom our making of, check it out: You can embed our YouTube Player into your blog by copying and pasting this code:

Levi and I have been searching for a school bus, but before I get into that, here is a quick Press Recap:
Last week I was on Canada AM news on CTV; here is a link where you can watch the interview from Friday morning- the newscaster introducer this as "the largest collaboration in filmmaking history." I brought our poster for the Road to Oprah too.
hey everyone,
i still owe a blog update about last weeks crazy media and bus adventures, but i just wanted to explan the super late newsletter a lot of our producers received today (one month after it was originally sent!). for those wondering why we invited you to a party that already happened, we actually tried sending that newsletter out a month ago! no idea why it took so long to arrive. our newsletter module is clearly having some issues, and i'll investigate. i guess better late than never, and i really appreciate the interest we are getting regarding sponsors and volunteers for our Road to Oprah!
This is not really related to the 1 Second Film, other than that these guys kind of remind me of the Evangenitals a little, in that their songs are often musically cool with a humorous tone. A little like 8-bit too with the robot song, both of which were at our funraiser at Mr. T's the other night. Anyway, Flight of the Conchords is definitely maybe my new favorite show. These guys are genius.
A Song for Sally
The Humans Are Dead
I'm not sure of the true purpose, popularity or reach of the blogs on here, but that passion for communication says I can't let this sit here. Simply 'cause I dropped some coin toward the 1 doesnt make me the man - however, in my eyes, my word does - what I create makes me immortal. But seeing as we're all really just passing through, I figure shit is too short to not deliver a "What up" to everyone who is cool enough to care - about this project, about me, this blog, etc. With that, I shall drop in here every one in awhile to drop my word, and chat about non-profits, projects, movies, and non-profit movie projects, Tom Green and the like.
we just launched www.roadtooprah.com, the site that will document our bio-diesel road trip, driving 10,000 miles to ask Oprah for $1. What will Oprah do?
the sites not finished, but we launched it anyway. cuz we only have 10 weeks to go, so not a second to spare!
i did 4 interviews today and am exhausted, so i thought i'd launch a new website in the middle of the night, because i have to get up at 4am tomorrow morning for another interview. i'm gonna plug the roadtooprah.com on CTV in Canada. Then Levi and I are going to drive up to Fresno and buy a school bus.
