The call came at about 12:30.
NIRVAN: "Hey Mike, Fox News is doing a story on us tonight..."
ME: "Yeah? Cool."
"Uh... yeah... they uh... need some footage..."
"Oh yeah? Well, you have lots of that"
"...On Betacam."
"Betacam?"
"Yeah"
"Um. OK. When are they going to be there?"
"Around 4:00"
"I'll see you in a few minutes"
Nothing like a little ultra last minute dvd-burning, quick tape-to-tape crash recording and assemble-editing from DVD and HDV to BetacamSP to get your spirits up. For once, I'm actually looking forward to the news.
If you live in LA, watch Fox News @ 10pm on channel 11 or at 11pm on channel 13. They just did an interview about The 1 Second Film project for a short piece they are running tonight.
The newscaster wants to try to do a 'one-second' piece; It's probably gonna just be me blinking as many times as I can, or something equally embarassing.
We ran up to Burbank and Mike helped transfer some footage to Beta tapes. Darwin has been helping digitize footage; Aaron came by and helped too...
I haven't eaten all day, so gonna go grab a bite. more later

An exciting day for The 1 Second Film ... Hal Eisner from Fox News is coming today (Nirvan met him this past Sunday at Lummis Day), and we're frantically getting everything together. Nirvan and I began cleaning the office at 10 am, and let me tell you, this place was dirty. But after cleaning each table surface about 3 to 4 times, I could almost see my reflection in the table top. Well, not really, because they are made of wood, but they were shiny! Aaron came by around 1, and he and Nirvan had to run up to Fotokem up in Burbank to put some footage on Beta tapes, while I attended my physical therapy appointment a bit earlier than scheduled. Now, we're all back and putting the finishing touches on our set (ie: Nirvan hung a bunch of celeb producer pics and other 1 Sec Film paraphernalia so that we are truly surrounded by our project). We are anxiously awaiting Hal's arrival, and we're so excited for our Fox News interview. It should be aired this evening! Woo hoo!
