Congratulations to Joseph Pozo, who won our ebay auction for a producer credit with his bid of $9.50- he then bumped himself up another $92 to a $101.50 Executive Producer credit! That was pretty cool of him. We will have to post another auction on ebay soon. Thanks to everyone else who has been chipping in via our website as well. We were expecting donations to die down over the holidays, but producer keep trickling in, and we appreciate the steady support very much.
I'm in Houston, Texas right now visiting my family. Been eating lots of homemade Indian food, and spending some nice time with my grandmother watching Bollywood movies. Tomorrow I'm driving with my sister to New Mexico, 14 hours. I'm also trying to finish writing another grant application. Haven't found much time to sneak away to write, but I need to finish it before the new year. So back to that.
so we posted a producer credit on ebay as an experiment,
if anyone wants to bid on it visit here:
1 second ebay auction
i guess a producer credit is the perfect last second gift for the holidays, cuz a lot of people have been buying credits for friends and family. we might not be able to post the credits up until after our intern gets back from the holidays, unless sean feels like database entering from seattle.
but it's really cool that a lot of people are buying credits as gifts for the holidays, and we really appreciate the support. it's a good $5, $20, or $10,000 gift, depending on your budget.
Also, just got this rad e-mail from "Doodle" that includes the quote of the day.

so the tom green thing didn't happen as we had heard it would. frustrating, but that's the way it goes... we were on stand-by monday thinking it would happen, and then again on tuesday. so now it's back on hold as tom has left for the holidays and then has a pretty extensive touring schedule when he gets back. i have no idea when the next window of opportunity will be.
i was up real late re-formating our database fields, getting everything uniform and ready to transfer to the automated system; it sucked, but has to get done before we can switch.
im gonna take the afternoon off to relax a bit.
So, the rumor is we will be meeting Tom Green on Monday in an undisclosed location to show him the footage of Andy Dick out-bidding him. This is exciting. We have been pursuing this rendezvous for some time now... hopefully it will finally happen.

If you must know, the way I heard about the 1 second film is as follows. My girlfriend and I think it's somewhat of a bizarre movie. A couple years ago, as part of a graduation requirement for my major, I was taking some art class or another. I vaguely remember as part of a discussion someone mentioning some sort of painting party for calarts to do this 1 second film thing. I didn't think much of the conversation at the time, but, for whatever reason, I've remembered that discussion over the past couple years. Now fast forward to last night. I was on the phone with my girlfriend, and we were talking about this film project that she'd told me about before that she'd been a part of a few years ago. As a favor to her friend's roommate, she said she'd agreed to be filmed for a 1 second film project. That triggered that memory in my mind, and I asked, "wait. I think I've heard of this. Was this something called the 1 second film project?" And so we both scrambled onto the internet and we found that we were both talking about the same thing, which is your project. So, in summation, my girlfriend is the girl who's likeness has been painted in all of those frames. And i'm not, by any measure, a rich man, but I thought I'd help your effort.
Been staying up late painting the stand. Meanwhile, Sean has been helping get all of our accounting and database in order.
The stand is really looking awesome. Ordered some striped fabric for the awning which just came in yesterday. Still putting all the little finishing touches on it. Going to varnish it as well to help weather proof it.
It's really encouraging to be working on something like this until 3 in the morning and then to find 3 new Executive Producers have donated on-line from all around the world. Not to mention several producers and associates. It's almost unbelievable the support that continues to come in, and it helps sustain us as we prepare for further growth. Once we get our new website up, we will shift into a higher gear.
here are a bunch of on-line producer pics our producers have been sending in from around the world. im looking forward to getting this website in better shape so we can post pics like these more easily. thanks everyone for the support, you are all helping this film to grow further than most would imagine possible.

Last night was amazing. I went to a dinner party to hear about the Millennium Promise, a simple concrete plan to end extreme poverty in Africa by 2025. It was at Roger Waters house; I shared the elevator up with Patti Smith(!) I couldn't say a word. The party was small but filled with people commited to making a positive difference in the world. Dr. Jeffrey Sachs and Angelina Jolie were there, and a few other famous folks like Phillip Seymore Hoffman and Moby. Also a lot of philanthropists and social entrepreneurs, including Ben Goldhirsh, who is on our Board, and helped get me invited. I have never been in a place so concentrated with potential for doing good; the only thing more amazing than the people in the room was the reason they were there. It was very inspiring.
so, i don't have enough time to properly write about last night's Witness event. but it was an interesting evening; the most moving moment was given by Ishmael, a young man from Sierra Leone who witnessed his entire family and village be murdered by rebels during the war. he was only 12 at the time, hiding helplessly in the bushes. he was then recruited to be a child soldier and spent the next 3 years of his life drugged and killing, losing all sense of compassion. he has since been recovering emotionally and has become a powerful and eloquent spokesperson for human rights, advocating policy change in Sierra Leone. it was a really moving account, and i can't do it justice.
